Located in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia, USP Atlanta is a BOP-run facility with about 1879 inmates. The institution features a medium-security center with 1879 inmates and a minimum-security satellite camp with 44 inmates. There are four housing units in the entire facility standing on a 300 acre stretch of land and surrounded by a perimeter wall. The USP Atlanta offers its inmates several beneficial programs. Sending a Mail
To maintain close ties with loved ones, inmates can send and receive mails at the USP Atlanta. An inmate can receive mails from two categories, general correspondence or special mail. General correspondence mail is just normal mails from friends and family and is opened for inspection before the recipient receives it. On the other hand, a special mail could be an important communication from the inmate's attorney, and this can only be opened in the presence of the inmate.

Sending Money
Inmates in all BOP facilities, including USP Atlanta, can receive funds into their commissary accounts. Such funds are used to purchase extra commissary items such as stamps, envelopes, and toiletries. There are three ways through which you can send funds into an inmate’s account:

Phone Calls
Inmates at the USP Atlanta are not permitted to have cell phones or receive calls. However, they can make 15 minutes monitored and recorded calls to anybody listed on their approved contacts. They incur the costs from their inmate accounts or a collect call arrangement.

Visitors are allowed into the facility on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal holidays between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm at the USP Atlanta. In the satellite camp, they are allowed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal holidays, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
