Sending a Mail

FCI Fort Dix allows their inmates to receive mails and approved packages. However, the sent mails have to have a return address for them to be passed to the recipients. The mails sent are categorized into two, general correspondence and special mail. The special mails are only opened in the presence of the recipient after inspection. The general correspondence mails are regular mails from friends and families that can be opened for inspection before being passed on to an inmate. Inmates at the FCI Fort Dix are also allowed to receive approved publications from the community. The only packages allowed are release clothing and authorized medical prescriptions and devices. Sending Money

Inmates at FCI Fort Dix like in other federal facilities are allowed to receive money into their Commissary accounts from wellwishers. They can use these funds to buy commissaries such as toiletries and snacks at the prison canteen. Money can be deposited into these accounts through the following means:

Phone Calls

The District of Columbia Telephone Company provides the call services, and the inmates pay through their inmate accounts or in another arrangement, the recipient incurs the cost. Third-party calls are prohibited in a bid to strangle criminal calls.
